This is long overdue, but I really needed to let it sink for a few days else I'll probably sound like an incoherent mentally unstable person when putting down my incoherent thoughts. Not that I'm at all coherent right now, still!

HOLY FLYING GLADIATOR, BATMAN!

That is, hands down, THE moment that makes the finale! I gasped, choked and wheezed at the amazing TOTALLY UNSCRIPTED feat Spartacus and Crixus performed amidst their fight to the death. IT REALLY CAN'T GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS! Can it?

Yes it can, but shit, that was one beautiful scene. Crixus in his realization that he's being set up to die, finally makes the ultimate decision... to live and fight with Spartacus! In one simple gesture of tapping his shield, the magic happens. Spartacus, fired up on rage and vengeance, charged forth leaping high into the air like a hungry beast headed straight towards its prey: the horde of Roman/Capuan royalties flocked on Batiatus' balcony.

And with that one leap of faith, Quintus Lentulus Batiatus' dreams and ambitions came crumbling down like a building implosion blast. Sadly to say, you brought it upon yourself, Quintus. Treachery begets treachery. Blood demands blood. You've made your bed, and now you must lie in it, and what a blood-drenched bed it turned out to be.

Prior to the finale, a friend and I took a peek at the trailer. VENGEANCE WILL BE BLOODY was the tagline in the trailer. We wondered: With the level of "bloody" we've seen so far on Spartacus, SERIOUSLY, just HOW MUCH BLOODIER can it get? The answer to that: HELLA MUCH BLOODIER! No joke. But there I was, at 2 AM in the morning, watching the massacre of women and children, my jaws were hanging open, but I was laughing in glee. I know it sounds a little tad disturbing, but I was practically jumping in my seat screaming KILL THEM ALL KILL THEM ALL YEAH KILL THEM AAAALLLLL SPARTACUS MWAHAHAHAHAHAH---okay, now I just sound like a total psycho.

In all seriousness, I'm really not a fan of blood and violence. I don't find it entertaining AT ALL. But for some odd reason, Spartacus MADE IT WORK. It was insanely awesome. This whole season has been awesome.

However, I do mourn the death of Batiatus and Lucretia (she *is* dead, isn't she?) Their cunning ways and treacherous nature will be sorely missed in Season 2. John Hannah and Lucy Lawless truly did a performance of a lifetime together, and as much as I would love to see John Hannah live forever and ever in this series, alas his role is done. He has done his part, and now Spartacus must fly.

One thing to rejoice about: ILITHYIA LIVES. Yes, we have not seen the last of BLAIR WALDORF, B.C. What's even better was that she gets her ultimate revenge. How cruel was she when she ordered her guards to LOCK DOWN the entire ludus, ensuring that everyone, not just Batiatus and Lucretia, are dead? That's........ COLD. Seriously, bitch, I know you're pissed, but that's just WRONG. Rest assured, she will be back to rattle the cages next season, along with her douchebag husband, Legatus Glaber.

Aurelia gets to indulge her vengeance as well. Wow. Hell hath no fury like a woman who found out who is really responsible for her husband's death. How many times did Numerius gets it from Aurelia? Even after he's obviously dead, Aurelia keeps plunging the knife on whatever is left of him. Poor woman. I feel her agony though, Varro didn't deserve to go out that way, to have his fate decided on by a boy just barely out of diapers. Serves you right for playing god, little boy. At least now I hope Aurelia isn't as pissed at Spartacus as she used to?

From the rotting carcasses or the massacre, rises a newborn leader. Spartacus' speech at the end was truly inspiring, the true words of a leader. Andy Whitfield, you truly are the voice, the true embodiment of Spartacus. This show would not have been the same had Spartacus been played by someone else. I'm always praying for your health, so you can return to the sand and lead the revolt!

To all the cast and crew of Spartacus: Blood & Sand,
WOW. What a season. WHAT A SEASON. I honestly think there are no proper words that could perfectly describe the awesomeness of the ride you've taken us on with this show. I can imagine that you yourselves probably took on a leap of faith making this show happen. There are a million ways each little subplot/character backstory could go wrong, but you guys picked all the right paths, you made everything WORK, and you put them all together leading up to a VERY SOLID story of Spartacus that had us taken aback in surprise every single episode, and leaves us always wanting MORE. This show is the most instantly addictive crack heroin of a TV show I've ever came across. Gratitude for giving me one of the most compelling shows I've ever watched. I shall be counting the days to SPARTACUS: VENGEANCE. ...and hopefully not die of withdrawal until then.

I feel hollow now. Cries.
