I just got around to see the Robin Hood trailer.

My reaction? :O :O :O :O

Am I watching Gladiator? Or Robin Hood? Because that Robin Hood sure looks like that Gladiator Maximus. Like... exact same getup, hair, scruff and all. (Please do not respond to this by saying "But he IS the same guy, Russell Crowe!" unless you're The Big Bang Theory's Sheldon Cooper who has a very impaired ability to detect sarcasm!)

I don't want to judge it before I see it, but I think this is gonna invite a lot of the same kind of criticism that went for Sherlock Holmes. It's a totally different portrayal of Robin Hood as we know it. No green tights, and I don't think there will be any singing men. Heh. See, the tale of Robin Hood has always been a charming, and almost sort of magical to me. Kind of like King Arthur. I'm not sure I want it to be darkened and splattered with blood all over.

But then again, apparently this is a pre-Sherwood Forest Robin Hood? Why is everything hitting the reset button nowadays? I think Batman started the trend :) ---so maybe after Robin Hood is outlawed he becomes chirpier?
